No. 10 “Slepoy” Shaft

Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O. is carrying out the construction of the No. 10 “Slepoy” vertical mine shaft at the Zarmitan mine of JSC Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat.

The facility is part of the complex to develop the underground infrastructure of the deposit and is related to the development of its eastern part.

About the Project

The project provides for the construction of a vertical mine shaft with a depth of 610 metres and a diameter of 4.5 metres.

No. 10 belongs to the type of blind mine shafts — vertical mine workings that do not have a direct outlet to the surface and are constructed within an existing underground system.

This type of shaft is used for the development of the deposit's deeper horizons and the formation of new process links within the mine complex.

The official materials of JSC NMMC identify Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O. as the contractor for construction and installation works within the construction of the No. 10 “Slepoy” vertical mine shaft.

The project is part of MCA's confirmed package of works at the Zarmitan mine, alongside the construction of the Skipovoy shaft and the deepening of the Glavny shaft.

Construction of No. 10 is part of the development of the deposit's mine and underground infrastructure.

Facility Features

A key feature of No. 10 is its execution as a blind vertical shaft within the existing underground infrastructure.

Unlike a shaft with a direct surface outlet, such a facility must be connected to the operating underground horizons and the system of mine workings.

Construction must take into account the existing configuration of the underground complex, the arrangement of access to the work area, process links with operating workings, and industrial safety requirements.

Significance for the Development of the Deposit

Shaft No. 10 is linked to the development of the eastern part of the Zarmitan deposit and the further development of underground mining operations.

The creation of a new vertical shaft expands the underground infrastructure required for access to the corresponding sections of the deposit and their subsequent inclusion in the mine's production system.

No. 10 “Slepoy” is one of three confirmed mine shaft projects of Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O. at the Zarmitan mine.

Together with the construction of the Skipovoy shaft and the deepening of the Glavny shaft, the project forms the company's confirmed experience in delivering vertical mine shafts of various purposes and configurations.
