For the first time in the history of the mining industry of Uzbekistan, the depth of a mine shaft reached 1,000 metres

A Historic Milestone — 1,000 Metres

At the Zarmitan mine, an important milestone has been reached in the construction of the “Skipovoy” mine shaft: the depth of the structure has reached 1,000 metres.

According to JSC Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat, this figure was achieved for the first time in the history of the mining industry of Uzbekistan.

Construction of the “Skipovoy” Shaft

The “Skipovoy” vertical mine shaft is being constructed as part of the development of the lower horizons of the Zarmitan deposit.

The diameter of the shaft is 6.5 metres.

Construction works were carried out in cooperation with Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O. Reaching a depth of 1,000 metres was the result of two years of joint work by the specialists involved in the project.

Development of the Lower Horizons of Zarmitan

The construction of the shaft is part of the development of the underground infrastructure of the Zarmitan mine.

The new vertical shaft is intended to operate as part of the mine complex and for the further development of the deposit's lower horizons.

Reaching the 1,000-metre mark became one of the key stages in the delivery of the “Skipovoy” project.

Participation of Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O.

Mine Construction Alliance S.R.O. participated in the construction of the “Skipovoy” shaft together with specialists of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat.

The project is part of MCA's confirmed portfolio of mine construction works at the Zarmitan mine.

The facility's further development continued through subsequent stages of construction and the formation of the deposit's underground infrastructure.
